I remember seeing this one in the arcade! Was kinda fond of it despite the jankiness of some of it. Even had the Genesis version at one point. So I was really looking forward to this episode. I do like the werdna theory though, a possible wizardry tribute would make sense.

I had a feeling that Wardner is a bit close to Werdna to be a coincidence, especially since this came out at a time when Wizardry mania was in full effect in Japan.

This game looks like a more advanced 1987 style Famicom release. I like how they used the system's sound chip to make digital farts. The unique, rare surprises in the game are very welcome. The kind of thing that made Mario games so great after Super Mario Bros 3 where surprises happened often. Too bad the platforming isn't as good.

Not as much like Wario's Woods as the title led me to expect

As a kid, I had a 96 games in 1 cartridge, and a friend of mine was REALLY fond of this Bomberman game. He'd come to my house every week to play it. He never finished it, tho, and my mom ended up forbidding him from coming back after a while due to how frequent it was. I have no idea how he is today, but I wonder if he ended up being a Bomberman master.

This game is so bootlegged on plug and play consoles that those bootlegs are more remembered than original game.

This game reminds me of the "Sherlock Holmes: Hakushaku Reijou Yuukai Jiken" for Family Computer, perhaps Towa Chiki developed the game by modifying 'Sherlock' to fit this story.

I get the feeling somebody really liked PC adventure games, including the copy protection.

Shame the game wasn't very good, but given the lack of ambition on display for so much of the FDS' library in general, it's still pretty nice to see. Honestly, with a guide in hand, it seems like it'd be a fun enough curiosity at least.

I loved this show. I even bought the soundtrack. The OP and ED themes are bangers. Too bad they didn't even bother to make 8-bit renditions of theme for this game...

Well, at least this is somewhat unique for the time. Too bad the game is just not very good otherwise; at least it's better than that side-scrolling Sherlock Holmes game.

so a licensed game loosely in the style of something like goonies 2? complete with obscure puzzles. also that mask does look identical to the one in the season 1 intro to sailormoon, just colored gold!

The mash-up of action platforming and adventure puzzle solving would be pretty cool... if the game didn't want you to be so damn precise. With little room for error, that makes this not very fun... If I played this as a 7-8 year old I would have liked it to a point, and then asked other kids how to beat it... only to be met with shrugs because no other kid would want to play this.

So did Konami not use the FDS' audio channels to enhance the BGM/SFX? That's something they could have done to give this version more value.

Another Famidaily rerun... and I guess we're going to see a lot of that. These are budget games and... to a japanese kid with an FDS... these are seriously a great deal sometimes. It makes perfect sense, but it's also kinda boring. Also those load times between the last stages? Yeesh.

There's a subtle thing this game does very well with the sprite art. I like how the enemies have this smug look that turns into an expression of helpless shock when they touch your bomb blast. Since it takes some work to score a kill, it makes it feel very rewarding

I was all like "Huh, let's see how the disc system ruined Twinbee" but I guess it was a reasonable port.

I didn't get around to this one til emulation though that was the og famicom version... still a fun cute-em-up! I was always fond of stinger, though. also the bell juggling still drives me nuts I hated it in parodius as well!
